She arrives at Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan just as the city begins to hum with its annual fever dream—Milan Design Week.
At 35, she has perfected the art of arrival: silk shirt half-buttoned, eyes alert, senses open. Milan greets her not as a destination, but as a conversation—between past and possibility. In her suite, light spills across curated objects that feel less like décor and more like memory. This is the quiet seduction of The Luxury Collection—never merely a place to stay, always a portal.
Downstairs, the air shifts. Outside the Living lounge, the Maccapani Edits pop-up unfurls like a living atelier, a tactile love letter to Italian craft.
Across the room, Margherita Maccapani Missoni watches—not as a distant designer, but as a curator of emotion.
Born into the legendary Missoni lineage, she carries legacy lightly, choosing instead to disrupt it. Her label, Maccapani, founded in 2023, is her manifesto: youth meets heritage, instinct meets discipline. She travels, she observes, she edits. Always editing.
“Milan has always been a city where creativity flourishes through a dialogue between heritage and innovation,” said Margherita Maccapani Missoni, Founder of Maccapani and longtime Global Explorer for The Luxury Collection. “My ongoing collaboration with The Luxury Collection has allowed me to deepen my connection to the artisans, traditions, and places that shape Italy’s creative identity – from Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan, to the legendary hotels across the portfolio in Italy that inspired a series of six embroidered patches, each reflecting the culture, craft, and character of these remarkable destinations. As a brand with a global portfolio rooted in local artistry and design, The Luxury Collection offers the perfect platform for telling these stories.”Maccapani further enthused: “With Maccapani Edits for The Luxury Collection, we set out to create something both authentic and playful – a collection shaped by the makers, objects, and narratives that capture the true spirit of Italy. I’m delighted to share these discoveries with travelers from around the world during such an inspiring moment for the country.”
The fashionista lingers over the collection’s heartbeat: a Moto T-shirt marked by the Horse of Saint Mark, six embroidered patches inspired by Italy’s most storied hotels, and a reimagined Casa Brera tote—objects that feel intimate, almost secret.
Around them, artisans speak softly through their work: marbled papers, sculptural ceramics, Murano glass flickering like bottled light.
This is not retail. It is narrative.
“At The Luxury Collection, we are guided by a deep respect for the character and cultural legacy that shapes each destination,” said Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, The Luxury Collection. “Margherita Maccapani Missoni’s artistry, and the way she engages so intuitively with Italian craft, brings a rare perspective to this collaboration.”
Rohr continues: “At Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan, her vision allows our brand to illuminate the city’s enduring traditions through a contemporary lens – inviting guests to experience Milan not only as a global design capital, but as a place of living heritage, creativity, and soul.”
Beyond the pop-up, the hotel’s Destination Discovery extends the story outward. Led by the concierge, guests slip into hidden workshops and studios—encountering the hands behind the objects. It is Milan, unfiltered. And this is precisely why missing it would feel like a misstep. The Maccapani Edit—open 20–26 April—captures a fleeting alignment: a city at its creative peak, a designer at her most instinctive, and a hotel brand that understands that luxury today is not excess, but meaning.
For the woman upstairs, now dressed for evening, the decision is already made. She will stay longer. Because here, in this rare intersection of fashion, craft, and place, Milan is not just seen.
It is felt.
