The Night Belongs To The Bees: Guerlain’s New Abeille Royale Ritual Turns Skin Repair Into An Art Of Living

On a sun-drenched summer day on Ouessant Island, far out in the Iroise Sea off western Brittany, the air seems to hum with purpose. For more than 15 years, Guerlain has investigated the repairing properties of bee products, analysing more than 300 honeys since the creation of Abeille Royale in 2010.  

The new Abeille Royale Night-Taping Treatment represents perhaps its most intriguing chapter yet: a night cream conceived around the idea that skin does not simply rest while we sleep—it enters a crucial period of repair and renewal.

Its protagonist is the Black Bee, an endangered bee native to Western Europe whose remarkable resilience and adaptation have enabled it to thrive in demanding environments. 

On Ouessant, where the population has been carefully preserved, the bee produces a honey rich in naturally occurring compounds that Guerlain has studied for their potential contribution to skin recovery. 

But Guerlain does not stop at honey.

The Night-Taping Treatment combines three Black Bee honeys—from Ouessant, Connemara in Ireland and Trøgstad in Norway—with exclusive royal jelly.
