Salt on Her Skin, Sun in Her Wardrobe: SANDRO SS26 Collection

One year ago, she stood on the wind-brushed coast of Brittany, the horizon dissolving into the restless blue of the North Atlantic.

The Bretons have always belonged to the sea; tides dictate time, fishing boats stitch dawn to dusk, and the salt air settles into the soul. Steeped in Celtic heritage, the region hums with ancient songs and maritime ritual.

She remembers the light first. How it scattered itself across rugged cliffs and whitewashed houses. How her linen dress clung gently to sun-warmed skin. How she loved—recklessly, tenderly—under skies that refused to darken before ten.

He was there beside her, barefoot on the sand, their laughter caught somewhere between the gulls and the tide. That summer was a study in contrasts: strength and softness, wind and warmth, restraint and abandon.

Now, in present-day Kuala Lumpur, the air is heavier, perfumed with rain and ambition. She is window-shopping in TRX’s polished corridors when something stops her mid-stride. A window at SANDRO. Nautical lines. Sun-washed hues. A whisper of Brittany.

She exhales. And walks in.

Spring/Summer 2026 is titled Summer Vibration—and it feels exactly like that first inhale of sea air after months away. A breeze of freedom moves through the collection, where opposites attract with Parisian nonchalance. Ruffles flutter against precise tailoring. Lingerie-inspired lace is grounded by sculpted silhouettes.

Broderie anglaise and crêpon reveal skin with an intelligence that never shouts. Sensuality, here, is confident and controlled.

For women, the peplum jacket—cinched at the waist—reclaims structure without severity. Voluminous trousers redraw proportions, elongating and empowering in one sweep.

Shine clashes gently with matte; transparency brushes against opacity. And then there is the Mymi bag: sleek, purposeful, designed for the woman who moves with intention. On another shoulder, the Claudia satchel nods to seventies escapism, bandana motifs recalling travel, memory, freedom.

The sea is present without being literal. It lives in the fluidity of fabric, in fringe that trembles like ripples on water, in pale pinks and water greens that mirror dawn on the Atlantic. Even the house’s daisy—reimagined with a seventies inflection—feels like a postcard from a slower, more romantic time.

Menswear follows suit with quiet magnetism. Tailoring is softened, unbuttoned just enough to suggest ease. Shirts breathe. Trousers loosen.

The spirit is nomadic yet refined—an urban sailor who knows both the boardroom and the boardwalk. Structure exists, but it bends; masculinity here is thoughtful, not rigid.

For over a decade, SANDRO has done what few Parisian houses manage so deftly: it has democratised desire. Founded in 1984 by Evelyne Chetrite and later expanded with menswear by Ilan Chetrite, the brand has quietly redefined accessible luxury.

It distils French chic into something lived-in rather than lofty—modern silhouettes infused with influences gathered through travel, culture and curiosity. Increasingly, it sharpens its commitment to responsible sourcing and mindful production, proving that aspiration and accountability can, and must, coexist.

What makes SS26 irresistible is not trend, but tension. The tension between nostalgia and now. Between intimacy and polish. Between the woman she was on that Breton shore and the woman she is today—decisive, global, self-aware.

She runs her fingers along a lace-trimmed satin dress. For a moment, the hum of the mall fades. She is back on the coast, salt drying on her collarbone, wind lifting her hair. But this time, she understands something she did not then: style is not about recreating a place. It is about carrying its spirit forward.

As she steps out of the fitting room, there is a new certainty in her posture. Summer is not a season; it is a state of mind. And Sandro SS26 captures it with a fluency that feels almost unfair.

Miss it, and you risk being anchored to yesterday. Embrace it, and you move—fluid, luminous, unmistakably Parisian—into the light.

The tide, after all, waits for no one.
